An interesting and diverse array of sports cars in the workshop this morning. No fewer than 4 E Type Jaguars, an MGB roadster, a convertible Jaguar XK8 and a convertible Jaguar XJS: not to mention four Jaguar S Types and two XJ6s. The list of repairs being carried out on these cars includes tuning, brakes, steering, cooling system, WOF items, routine service, Electronic Control Unit (ECU,) two major engine overhauls, gearbox overhauls, transmission issues, and the inevitable oil leak. That should keep us busy this week! The workshop staff need to have the skills to be able to handle such a variety of machinery. Skills ranging from being able to diagnose modern electronic problems to tuning double and triple carburetter set ups as on pre 1980 Jaguars: from multi-valve VVC engines, manual and automatic transmissions, to hypoid gear differentials. I am thankful for the owners who trust us with their valuable and much treasured vehicles, and thankful for the service staff who so capably carry out the repairs as requested.
